A Little Update
We are currently going through the process of registering as an NGO - this means, that we have to change our name - in Uganga you can only have any part of a name registered once, Mukasa had already been taken :(

We are taking the name of out trustee who has helped us hugely, its our way of saying thank you and she has quite an unusual name, so it was definitely not taken in Uganda

We will be THE SORCHA CHILDREN FOUNDATION, please bear with us whilst we transfer everything over to our new name - sometimes you will see Mukasa Children Foundation and sometimes The Sorcha Children Foundation.

Why We Need Your Help
Creating a Beacon of Hope for Orphaned Children in Uganda
There are over 2.4 million orphans in Uganda, many end up alone due to parents dying from HIV and Malaria, and many more are given up simply because their mothers, often abandoned themselves, simply cannot afford to provide basic needs for their children. We want to give the children hope of a better future after such a difficult start to their lives. Your support can really make a difference from as little as 26 pence a day you can sponsor a child.

Life-Changing Opportunities
Through our foundation, orphaned children are given the chance to thrive and succeed in life, breaking the cycle of poverty and inequality.

Community Impact
By officially registering as a charity in February 2024, we are committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of orphaned children and the community we live in. We have some longer term plans for the orphanage to become more self-sufficient, but any donations or sponsorship goes directly to the children and the orphange and is used for basic needs and education first. You can be sure that when you sponsor a child, you are really making a difference to their lives, both in the immediate and their futures.
Loving Care and Support
Our dedicated, but small team ensures that all 50 children in our care receive the love, nourishment, education and protection they deserve.
Educational Empowerment
Director Mukasa emphasises the importance of education, ensuring that each child attends school and focuses on their studies for a brighter future. You can sponsor a child or donate as a one off to pay for their education; this really helps break the cycle of poverty for the children.
